Along the Ironai Street, there remain a lot of historical structures built from the mid-Meiji period, the Taisho period, to the Showa period. The main building of Otaru Music Box Museum is constituted by two structures: one is made of red bricks and the other is made of stones. This was constructed as the headquarters of the leading rice dealer in Hokkaido in 1910.

On the second floor with the stone-built warehouse, you can buy relaxing items, including toreutic and champleve music boxes and aroma lamps. On the second floor made of red bricks, there are high-class music boxes produced in Japan and Switzerland. You can see music boxes that play beautiful melodies, which can be said to be artworks. There is also the must-see gdioramah that allows you to view the history and background of music boxes.
On the third floor, you can buy music boxes whose tunes can be selected.
