The 2nd building of Otaru Music Box Museum, Antique Museum
It is said that Dutch firstly introduced music boxes to Japan in 1852. At that time, they were called ¡§Orgel¡¨ means organs in Dutch but afterwards they were changed to be called ¡§Music box¡¨ like we call at present.
The number of the historic valued antique music boxes and mechanical dolls display exactly the same as in those days at the 2nd building of Otaru Music Box Museum, Antique Museum. Each item is fragile structure and there are fewer items preserved as perfect condition, therefore, the items are very valuable for art work and mechanical craftwork.
